JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A new building on the Arkansas State
University campus is nearing completion thanks to some helpful volunteers.
About 100 people woke up early Saturday morning to lay sod
at the new Wolf Life Campus Ministry building.
The volunteers donated a few hours to make the lawn look
nice and green, but the facility is still weeks away from opening.
Once the building is complete, ministry director Chris
Buxton says this will be a place for students to enjoy for years to come.
"I just want to say thanks to all the folks who came out and
donated their time, volunteered," Buxton said. "All the sod went down in about
an hour and a half if you can believe that, so it was really exciting to see
all the people out here working hard, getting sweaty, getting dirty like I am
right now.
"So, I just thank all of them."
The on-campus ministry is sponsored by the area Churches of
Christ, though its main backer is Southwest Church of Christ on James Street.
