Jonesboro developer files Chapter 11 bankruptcy
News

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro based developer Bruce Burrow is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Burrow told Region 8 News Tuesday afternoon that the Bruce Burrow Family Trust filed for protection.  Burrow said the trust is solely his property and does not include his wife.

"It's my fault", Burrow said about the filing.  The trust owns a shopping center in Blytheville and several vacant building lots around Jonesboro.  Burrow said none of his other 20 businesses were included in the Chapter 11 filing.

Burrow said the story earlier published by the Arkansas Business and later the Associated Press was incorrect, because the story listed all of his properties, not just the ones he is seeking protection for in the filing.  Here is the report:

Jonesboro developer Bruce Burrow is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for debts that his filing says are between $50 million and $100 million.

The preliminary filing was made July 30 and must be completed by Aug. 14.
Arkansas Business reports Burrow listed assets of between $10 million and $50 million.
Burrow, who developed the Mall at Turtle Creek in Jonesboro, lists 20 unsecured creditors and all of them are banks. The banks have filed claims totaling $53 million against Burrow.
