JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The annual "Game Day for the Kids" was held this weekend. The event raised money for the Children's Advocacy Center in Jonesboro.
The ride started at Barton's Powersports on Parker Road and ended at the Northeast Arkansas Children's Advocacy Center.
Detective Mike Branscum with Jonesboro Police says the organization makes it easier for children suffering from abuse. "[The advocacy center] really is a kind of middle between the investigation and the child and family." Branscum said. "The child basically has to tell their story one time in a child friendly environment."
Door prizes were given away at the Children's Advocacy Center... some of which included tickets to Saturday's Red Wolf football game against the University of Memphis.
