Two Jonesboro men picked to participate in annual gator hunt
While many like to hunt deer and waterfowl, there are those who prefer something a little different: alligators.
On Wednesday the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announced its list of lucky hunters picked to participate in the 2011 alligator hunting season. Alan Bigham and James best, both of Jonesboro, were among those chosen.
The alligator season will begin 30 minutes after sunset on Friday, September 16, until 30 minutes before sunrise on Monday, September 19, and from 30 minutes after sunset on Friday, September 23, until 30 minutes before sunrise on Monday, September 26.
All hunters chosen must complete a mandatory hunter orientation class.
