Craighead Electric Cooperative will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at its newest energy-efficient model home.

The heating and cooling costs for the 1900-square foot home, located at 104 CR 425 in Jonesboro, are guaranteed to average no more than $67 per month, according to a news release from the cooperative.

The heating and cooling costs for the 1900-square foot home, located at 104 CR 425 in Jonesboro, are guaranteed to average no more than $67 per month, according to a news release from the cooperative.

The law firm Waddell, Cole & Jones has given its stamp of approval on a new office in Jonesboro.

The law firm will begin construction later this month on a 13,000 square-foot office to be located in the former U.S. Postal facility, 310 East St.  It expects to move into the new space in August 2013.

Christmas came early for Craighead County realtors.

The county was among the top five in the state for most homes sold during the month of November.

According to the Arkansas Realtors Association, was ranked fifth with 101 units sold in November 2011 compared to 89 the previous year.  That's an increase of 13.48 percent.  Pulaski County saw the most homes sold during the month with 283 compared to 264 last year.

Craighead County ranks fourth in the state for the most units sold for the year:  1,322 compared to 1,245 in 2010.
