Spare a little time and Bowl for Kids' Sake!

Have a couple of hours to spare? 

Then strike out for the Jonesboro Bowling Center to help the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northeast Arkansas.

The Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4, and from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 6.

Proceeds will be used to support mentoring programs in Jonesboro and the surrounding area.

Enjoy a night of family fun, including a BBQ dinner, while helping disabled kids all across Northeast Arkansas play ball.

The 2013 Weiner Pig Roast will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Weiner High School.

Tickets are $20 and will benefit the Miracle League of Jonesboro.

In addition to the dinner, there will be live entertainment, door prizes as well as live and silent auctions.

ASU Athletics hosts ninth annual Senior Prom

The Arkansas State Department of Athletics held its annual Senior Prom, which has gained national exposure in years past through the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and NCAA News, for the ninth consecutive year Thursday night at the ASU Convocation Center.

The event was held on the Convocation Center's arena concourse level. This year's prom was the largest ever with over 300 senior citizens attending the event themed "Flower Power" and featuring food, live music, dancing, bingo and door prizes.

A group of “Naked Guys” was among the winners at the 2013 Pride Day Awards Ceremony at Arkansas State University.

According to a news release from Arkansas State University, the winners were:

The Jonesboro High School J-Team will be competing in Orlando, Florida at the Disney World Resort this Saturday and Sunday in the 2013 Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championships. NDTC is a national-level dance team championship. Last year, approximately 330 high school and all star dance teams made the cut and competed. The competition will be broadcast on ESPN2 and will reach more than 90 million homes. NDTC will also offer a live stream of the competition as it happens on Varsity.com.
