Beavers busy at the Mall at Turtle Creek

Beavers busy at the Mall at Turtle Creek

In his job as prosecuting attorney for the 2nd Judicial District, Scott Ellington helps take a bite out of crime every day.

But it wasn’t Ellington that took a bite out of this tree.

Instead, it was beavers.

The District Attorney snapped this photo of a tree snapped in two pieces behind Dillard’s at the Mall at Turtle Creek and shared it on his Twitter account (@Scott_Ellington).

Unusual visitor to Mississippi County

According to Wikipedia, the Snowy Owl is one of the largest in North America.  Usually found in Canada, they are the official bird of Quebec.

So how did one wind up all the way down here in Mississippi County?

That's a question experts at Arkansas State University and Chris Hutchings of Gosnell are still asking.

Chris sent these photos of a baby white owl that had fallen out of its nest a few months ago.

Andrew Neighbors of Jonesboro had an unusual visitor to his home recently.

He tells Your Region 8 he spotted this "pink-eyed white beauty" one night in his backyard.

It's an albino raccoon.

Apparently the 'coon liked what he found in the Neighbors' yard, because he came back the next night!
